Midlands Children of Courage Awards are delighted to be working in partnership with Midlands based charities and organisations. We are tremendously grateful to everyone for your support:
Children develop through experience; they need to explore and discover a wide range of people, places and activities. Sadly, too often a disability and disadvantage deny a child the opportunity to play, learn and reach their potential.
Variety believes every child should have the chance to enjoy their childhood and be given the opportunity to realise their unique potential regardless of disability or disadvantage.
Variety Midlands has funded more than 49 Variety Sunshine Coaches in the past five years alone, numerous wheelchairs, special car seats, beds and medical equipment. Thousands of children and young people in the region have enjoyed great days out through our “Variety at Work” activities in Midlands.
A wheelchair doesn’t just provide mobility. It lets the child ‘join in’ with the other kids. Providing a special-needs school with a Sunshine Coach gives its pupils access to a much wider range of activities and experiences. For a disadvantaged child, a day at the seaside becomes a cherished childhood memory..
We help fund children’s hospitals and hospices. We provide specialist in-home medical equipment for sick children and anxious parents. We enable youth clubs to have more facilities and so attract new members – keeping youngsters off the streets and out of trouble.
That’s what we mean by making a difference. View Website
